Happy Valentine's Snow
So we had beautiful weather today. It was 71!!! Still a bit of snow on the ground here and there but you could wear dainty shoes and didn't even need jackets...it was lovely. However, and I find this a tad hard to believe.... but we are due to now have snow. Apparently a couple of inches over night and then 3 inches tomorrow and tomorrow's top temperature duning the day ...that would be 25 degrees. Big change.
Hubby is on his way to UK.. no emergency just a long weekend to see his folks. He hadn't seen his dad since November (not counting Skype). They are quite close and he turns 70 this year (Hubby's dad that is - not Hubby!) so there is always the 'how much more time do we have' thing playing at the back of his mind. This was a weekend when we had no ski commitments so it worked out fine. Having said all that as he had to change planes in Chicago he refused to check in a proper case....just wanted his carry on which means he has limited shopping space. Grrr. never mind.
He left his present here for Valentine's Day and we opened them last night. I got a cute cuddly bear holding the letters L O V E. The kids already have their eye on it.... I am not a real cuddly toy person - but it is the thought that counts.
The older two kids can go out of uniform tomorrow providing they have some white, pink or red going on. Paddy has a pink.blue stripy shirt so that should do nicely. They can wear Valentine's colours providing they take a can of food each - they must be collecting for a shelter.
Oh and the Valentines card swap they always do at school....didn't leave it as late as last year as altogether I had 8 + 9 + 27 + 26 to have ready.......
Oh and I bought Bee a proper one and have addressed it, stamped it and given it a fake post mark and it is sat in our mailbox to have tomorrow's mail delivered with it.....I thought she may get a kick out of it and I am pretty good at lying for things like that....
But of course if there is even more snow, school may well be cancelled for Bee and Paddy and then I dare say we will have what will seem like one of the longest Valentine's Days ever!!!!
