Gift of the gab
Second son, Mac, is quite a handful. When I picked him up from his half day of school on Wednesday, I was told by his teacher, that next week, Mac will get no recess at all - that's how much trouble he had been in Wednesday. When I asked Mac about it he really didn't seem too phased by it at all - said he'd been acting a bit of a baby and that it really wasn't such a big deal - it's only 5 days....
Then last week hubby had bumped into a neighbour of ours at Starbucks and they too had been asking about Mac. Seems a Realtor friend of theirs had been showing a house that hubby had gone to - taking Mac with him and just by those few questions that Mac had asked...well the Realtor had remembered him.
He does look cute I guess - with his little wire glasses. You sort of notice him even before he opens his mouth and starts asking his endless questions and then with his hearty laugh (think the 'Carry on Films' even though he has never seen any of them).
This morning at the line to renew his Passport he was trying to ask people where they were going with their passports. He just needs to know things. Shy is not a word in his vocabulary. He was questioning the USPS lady why it would take them 3 weeks to get his passport ready - why not NOW?
Then we went with him to get a Christmas Tree. A real live Christmas tree - yes, early but we figured we're not going to see it after Dec 26th so may as well go for it. We were there at Home Depot for maybe 20 minutes and Mac and the sales guy were best friends in that time. We got some free hot chocolate there and Mac was over the moon with this (not like he has never had hot chocolate before) . He found out that the guy lives in a flat, wants to get a house, the names and ages of his 3 kids and what they want for Christmas. It was actually quite funny to listen to.
Hubby on the other hand was a real toss pot at both the Post Office and Home Depot. Sulky, grumpy, moody. So the charismatic Mac must get his genes from my side - obviously.

Awww, he still sounds adorable. I just got back from Sam's Club with my mum and all the kids where Cam, my middle one talked my head off the whole time! I have learned how to look enthusiastic whilst immersed in my own thoughts. He won't really chat up people he doesn't know though. At least I don't think!
I've been giving my hubby a dose of his own sulky medicine and all of a sudden he is being all sweet and nice. I think it's only coz he wants to watch the blooming 5th Element for the 50 millionth time again tonight. Anyway, try it -- ye never know!
